Amp Up Your Analysis With Overlays and Annotations

by Erin Swenlin

The ability to add numerous overlays and annotations has added a new dimension to my charting. It wasn't possible to annotate charts from the DecisionPoint.com website without first putting them in another software program and then using the annotation tools there. After annotating, I'd have to save the chart for future viewing. That's fine, but it was static, so each day I would have to do the process all over again. With SharpCharts, I can set up my charts, annotate them, add overlays and save them. Each day they update and the annotations are still there, moving right along with the Read More

A Walk Through the New DecisionPoint Gallery

by Erin Swenlin

The new DecisionPoint Gallery on StockCharts.com offers you the ability to quickly assess market trends and conditions. I look at the Gallery every afternoon after the indicators have updated. If you are not familiar with it, you can get to the DP Gallery using the link in the middle of the StockCharts.com homepage.  The link is directly underneath all of the big ticker symbols in the middle of that Read More

Creating a DecisionPoint ChartStyle

by Erin Swenlin

For many of us who have migrated to the Stockcharts.com SharpCharts workbench, there is a major difference between the SharpCharts "default" chart style and the DecisionPoint.com ChartTool style. This way whenever I create or open a new chart, it comes up looking the way I'm used to. My "default" Chart Style is below. (Click here for a live version of this chart) The reason I chose this is simple: this was the default style in the DecisionPoint Read More

Accessing DecisionPoint Indicators Now

by Erin Swenlin

Since the news of the DecisionPoint.com/StockCharts.com merger, a common question coming into our Support area is, "How do I access DecisionPoint indicators?". In addition, DecisionPoint subscribers want to know how to recreate their favorite DecisionPoint indicators on the SharpCharts workbench. Let's look at using DecisionPoint indicators in SharpCharts first. First you need to know what indicator you are looking for. Right now, the most popular indicator is the DecisionPoint Price Momentum Oscillator (PMO). This is easily charted because the PMO is Read More

The Road to DecisionPoint on StockCharts.com

by Erin Swenlin

Hello again everyone! Since the announcement of the DecisionPoint/StockCharts merger, I have had numerous questions and concerns from DP members about when and how DP features and charts will be transitioned to the StockCharts.com platform. First and foremost, please remember that DP features will be added to StockCharts incremently over the next month, instead of in a rushed manner. Also remember that although the DecisionPoint.com homepage will eventually be closed, you will have access to it throughout the entire transition process. This way you will be able to experiment Read More
