What Happened Today?

Monday Set-Ups:

Every Monday, Tom and Erin look at which charts are shaping up as "ones to watch" for the week, but to start, they reviewed last week's Monday Set-Ups "picks", MCHP for Erin which closed higher by 0.05% for the week and INTU for Tom which closed up 1.43% for the week. Nice job, Tom! This week Tom picked Tupperware (TUP) and Erin chose Consolidated Edison (ED).

Earnings Spotlight (EarningsBeats - John Hopkins): Tom and John began by talking about a tale of two companies as far as earnings. Netflix (NFLX) and General Electric (GE). Not great earnings hit on an already difficult decline for GE showed bad drop.

The "Chart of the Week" on EarningsBeats.com is below:

Ten in Ten Before One: In this regular segment, Tom reviews ten charts in ten minutes with Erin's comments and comments from the Twitter "peanut gallery" peppered in there. Send in your symbol requests via Twitter (@mktwatcherslive) before the show and we'll try and add them. Symbols reviewed today: NGE, FCX, SWK, ULTA, DOL.TO, LIT, NKE, GM, SO and PLUG.  You'll find all of the charts in the MarketWatchers LIVE ChartList, located at the top of the MarketWatchers blog homepage.

DecisionPoint Report: On Monday Erin analyzes DP indicators to give us a heads up on the market conditions as we start the week. She also reviewed the "big four": Dollar, Oil, Gold & Bonds. Don't miss the DecisionPoint Weekly Wrap by Carl Swenlin on Saturday morning to get the scoop on market action the prior week and find out what the indicators are suggesting for the future. The message was short-term trouble, intermediate-term bullishness. Erin is bullish Gold and bearish on the Dollar.

Mailbag Segment: Each show Erin and Tom answer questions received via Twitter, Facebook and Email. There wasn't a whole lot of time for mailbag today, but Erin did show us how to manipulate ChartLists and save other bloggers charts to their own ChartLists. They both talked about how to find the MarketWatchers ChartList and how to subscribe to that blog.

It's a Wrap! In closing Tom wished Erin a very happy wedding and honeymoon! She will return as "Mrs. Erin Wood" on the 8/21 Monday Show.

Looking Forward:

Tune in on Wednesday at 12:00p - 1:30p EST on 07/26. Greg Schnell will be filling in for Erin while she is on vacation, so expect lots of commodity talks! Your favorite segments will be there, Agree or Disagree, 10 in 10 to 1, and mailbag!

** Erin will be traveling 7/25 - 8/20. Congratulations on the upcoming marriage and honeymoon! She'll return on 8/21 as Erin "Wood" **
