What Happened Today?

Blog Highlights: Tom and Erin gave viewers a tour of the Blogs area on StockCharts.com. Erin highlighted this blog as well as the DecisionPoint blog. Tom discussed John Murphy's Market Message and the Don't Ignore This Chart blog.

Ten in Ten Before One: In this regular segment, Tom reviews ten charts in ten minutes with Erin's comments and comments from the Twitter "peanut gallery" peppered in there. Send in your symbol requests via Twitter (@mktwatcherslive) before the show and we'll try and add them. Symbols reviewed today: CY, SGG, MNRO, ADI, CMI, MU, CTL, EWZ SWN and WLH.  You'll find all of the charts in the MarketWatchers LIVE ChartList, located at the top of the MarketWatchers blog homepage.

Anatomy of a Trade: Tom and Erin went over trades they have recently made or in Erin's case today, she looked at some buy and hold trades from the past. For "buy and hold", Erin reviewed when and why she turned off (cashed out) some of her equity holdings and moved to metals in 2011 and then back to equity trades. She looked at the market at the time, showed when she moved to metals and when she opted to buy back in. The main point was that she considers IT Trend Model Neutral signals to be a warning to divest or hedge or at a minimum evaluate. Notice the negative crossover that occurred on a buy signal that had been intact for nearly a year.

Tom explained his rationale for trading JD.com (JD) using everything from candlesticks to volume and MACD.

It's a Wrap! In closing Erin discussed the Twitter viewer poll from Thursday to see what their vote was on What they would do with VFC.

Looking Forward:

Tune in on Friday at 12:00p - 1:30p EST on 11/10 for Erin's workshop on Chart Patterns and a sentiment review! The regular segments, Ten in Ten to One and Mailbag are also on tap for Friday, where we look at your recent questions and symbol requests.

Don't miss it!!
