To create a price alert you will start in the "Alert Criteria" box. By default the box will show [symbol = '$INDU'] and [close x 13000] but this can be changed. In the case of this tutorial we will use ticker symbol MSFT to see when MSFT close is greater than $28.

To get started delete $INDU and type in MSFT. It will read [symbol=MSFT]
*In your alert you can use any ticker symbol. It does not have to be MSFT.

Next, we need to add the price portion to the scan. You can delete X 1300 and instead enter the greater than symbol followed by 28. It will look like this. [ Close > 28].
*If you are creating your own alert the price does not have to be greater than 28. You can enter in the value you prefer to use for your alert. If you prefer to to know when a stock is less than a certain value you will use the less than "<" symbol. If you want to know when the stock crosses a certain price you will use "X". If you want to know when it hits an exact value you would type [Close = and then insert the price].
