MarketWatchers LIVE Show

MarketWatchers LIVE Show

MarketWatchers LIVE is our mid-day web show for active technical traders. Hosted by Tom Bowley and Erin Wood, the show focuses on what the market is currently doing from a technical perspective. In addition, Tom and Erin will have educational segments, long-term outlooks and lively guest interviews on the show. MarketWatchers LIVE airs weekdays from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Eastern time.

We've made it very easy to tune in to the show, using the embedded Livestream Video Player on our site. No software installation is required; just go to the MarketWatchers LIVE page on our site and watch!

Livestream Setup and Controls

The Livestream Video Player loads right in your web browser, and is fairly simple to use. When you mouse over the video screen while we are broadcasting, several controls will appear on the screen that allow you to adjust your video player settings.

Screen Size

In the bottom right corner, there is a button that allows you to go to full screen. If you want to increase the size of the player without entering full screen, you can do so by increasing the size of your browser window.

In the bottom left, there is a speaker icon that allows you to control the sound. Mouse over this icon and then move the slider bar to the right of the icon in order to increase or decrease the volume.

Clicking on the speaker icon will mute or unmute the sound. If the icon has an “X” on it, that means the speakers are muted.

Pausing, Rewinding, and Rewatching

The Livestream Video Player allows you to pause, play, rewind, and fast forward, just like a DVR.

While the video is playing, there will be a Pause icon in the bottom left of the screen. Click on this to toggle between play and pause. You can also move the slider bar above the icon in order to go forward and backward within the video.

If you have rewound to an earlier point of the video while the broadcast is still going, you can return to live content (what is being broadcast right now) by clicking the “Go to Live” icon that appears to the right of the pause/play icon. If you're viewing live content, it will say “LIVE” in the upper left corner, instead of “DVR”.

Asking Questions During the Show

If you mouse over the video screen, there is a speech bubble icon in the top right of the screen. Clicking this will open the chat window. Enter a “screen name” of your choice and click the Join button to join the chat.

Once you've joined the Chat, asking questions or suggesting ticker symbols to review is as simple as typing in the comment at the bottom of the chat window and pressing Enter.

Be aware that everyone else watching the broadcast can see your chat comments. Please be respectful and professional with your comments. reserves the right to remove individual comments at any time.

In addition to the chat window, users can ask questions during the broadcast using Twitter. We monitor the MarketWatchers LIVE Twitter feed during the broadcast. Users can also contact us through our Facebook page or email, but these are not monitored during the show, so questions submitted through Facebook or email will not be addressed during the broadcast. To the right of the video player, you will see links to connect with us on Twitter, on Facebook, and via email.

After the Show

Provide Your Feedback

After the webinar, we'd appreciate you taking a minute to fill out our one-question survey, giving us some feedback on that day's show. You can find a link to the survey to the right of the video player.

Webinar Recordings

We offer a recording of the latest edition of the show for a limited time. The recording will be made available from the Livestream Video Player within an hour of the show airing, and will remain available until the next edition of the show airs.

The recording can be accessed directly from the Livestream Video Player. Once the video has been posted, it can be accessed from the popup window on the right side of the video player screen. If for some reason the popup window is not displayed, it can be launched by mousing over the video screen and clicking the Event Posts icon in the top right corner.

MarketWatchers Blog

Each MarketWatchers LIVE show is recapped in the MarketWatchers LIVE blog. You can access it from the MarketWatchers Blog link to the right of the video screen, or from our Blogs page.

Troubleshooting Problems

Most Livestream issues are related to either sound or the quality of your internet connection. These are a few of the more common issues:

If you're watching the video, but can't hear any sounds, please check the following:

  • Can you hear sound from other sources? Play something from iTunes or YouTube to make sure your speakers are on and working. Be sure to try headphones too.
  • Check the speaker icon on the Livestream player. If you look at the bottom left corner of the player and see the speaker icon with an “X”, that means the player is muted. Click the icon to unmute the player.

If the video or audio are somewhat choppy during the broadcast, you may be experiencing buffering issues (where your internet connection can't download the video fast enough to keep up with you watching it). Please try the following:

  • Pause the video for a few seconds, and then press play again. This will give the video a few extra seconds to be downloaded before you view it.
  • Try changing the resolution for the video stream. To do this, mouse over the video screen and click the “HD” button in the lower right corner. By default, your resolution is set to “Auto”, which will choose the best resolution for the internet bandwidth you have available. If you are experiencing buffering issues, try setting it to a lower resolution.

If you have tried these solutions and are continuing to have issues, please visit the Livestream support site for full technical support and help with using the Livestream player.
