Educational Resources

Educational Resources provides tons of high-quality, online educational resources for learning more about charting, technical analysis and using our analysis tools. Many of them are described below:

ChartSchool is a special area of our website that contains a large number of educational articles covering many aspects of Technical Analysis.

To access ChartSchool, simply click on the “ChartSchool” tab at the top of any of our pages.

You can also use our Site Search feature to find relevant ChartSchool articles for a specific topic. Just go to our Home page and enter your term(s) into the “Search StockCharts” box on the right side of the page, then click “Search.” Search results that have the “CS” icon next to them are ChartSchool articles.

Instructional Videos

We have a large number of Instructional Videos that demonstrate how to use various aspects of our website. You can find a link to our instructional videos on the right side of our homepage.

We strongly recommend that all StockCharts members watch our "Getting Started with" video as soon as they activate their account.

Instructional Blogs

In addition to all of the market commentary blogs we have (discussed here), we also publish a blog dedicated to helping you learn more about charting, chart analysis and using the analysis tools on

The StockCharts Answer Network (s.c.a.n.)

The StockCharts Answer Network (s.c.a.n.) is a user-maintained message board/forum where members can ask for help from other members. Examples of questions that s.c.a.n. is great at answering include:

  • How do I create a particular kind of custom technical scan?
  • What's the best way to trade the current market?
  • Which online brokerage website is best?
  • Can anyone help me fix my computer?
  • What are the possible tax implications of selling now?
  • etc., etc., etc.

Those are examples of questions that the StockCharts Support team cannot answer because they go beyond the scope of the website.

On the other hand, there are some categories of questions that s.c.a.n. can NOT answer including:

  • What's my password?
  • Can you add this feature?
  • Why is my account screwed up?
  • How much does it cost to upgrade my account?
  • etc., etc., etc.

Those questions have to do with your specific account situation which is something the members on s.c.a.n. do not have access to.

To read the s.c.a.n. board, just visit this link:

s.c.a.n. is free to use but it does require that you create a new login and password just for it. (While s.c.a.n. is focused on discussing issues, it is independent from
