StockCharts.com provides tons of high-quality, online educational resources for learning more about charting, technical analysis and using our analysis tools. Many of them are described below:
ChartSchool is a special area of our website that contains a large number of educational articles covering many aspects of Technical Analysis.
To access ChartSchool, simply click on the “ChartSchool” tab at the top of any of our pages.
You can also use our Site Search feature to find relevant ChartSchool articles for a specific topic. Just go to our Home page and enter your term(s) into the “Search StockCharts” box on the right side of the page, then click “Search.” Search results that have the “CS” icon next to them are ChartSchool articles.
We have a large number of Instructional Videos that demonstrate how to use various aspects of our website. You can find a link to our instructional videos on the right side of our homepage.
We strongly recommend that all StockCharts members watch our "Getting Started with StockCharts.com" video as soon as they activate their account.
In addition to all of the market commentary blogs we have (discussed here), we also publish a blog dedicated to helping you learn more about charting, chart analysis and using the analysis tools on StockCharts.com.
Below is a list of our instructional blog:
Typically published once per trading day after the market closes, articles in "Don't Ignore This Chart" are usually short with just one chart. They are intended to spur thought and exploration; however, like everything on StockCharts.com, they are NOT buy or sell recommendations.
The StockCharts Answer Network (s.c.a.n.) is a user-maintained message board/forum where members can ask for help from other members. Examples of questions that s.c.a.n. is great at answering include:
Those are examples of questions that the StockCharts Support team cannot answer because they go beyond the scope of the StockCharts.com website.
On the other hand, there are some categories of questions that s.c.a.n. can NOT answer including:
Those questions have to do with your specific account situation which is something the members on s.c.a.n. do not have access to.
To read the s.c.a.n. board, just visit this link: http://scan.stockcharts.com
s.c.a.n. is free to use but it does require that you create a new login and password just for it. (While s.c.a.n. is focused on discussing StockCharts.com issues, it is independent from StockCharts.com.)
Sometimes you need a little motivation to improve your charting skills and technical analysis knowledge. To help with that, we've created the “SCU Certified ChartWatchers Exam” - an online, multiple choice, open book exam that verifies your StockCharts.com skills.
In addition to the knowledge that they have mastered the use of our website, members who pass the Certification Exam also receive a financial reward - 50% off all future purchases in The StockCharts Store.
