What Happened Today?

Everything StockCharts with Chip Anderson: Chip showed us more about the best way to use the new Member Dashboard. He revealed features that not everyone knows about so you might want to go to the archive in Facebook or YouTube to rematch this segment. Chip also shared his "SCTR Scan". As promised, below is the language you can input in the advanced scanning workbench:

[type = stock] and [country = us] and [close > 5]
and [todays sctr > 90]
and [todays sctr > yesterdays sctr]
and [yesterdays sctr > 2 days ago sctr]
and [2 days ago sctr > 3 days ago sctr]
and [3 days ago sctr > 4 days ago sctr]
and [todays close > yesterdays max(200, close)]
rank by [sctr]

Chart Breakouts: Erin and Tom spent a little time talking about chart breakouts that they were seeing in today's market. Erin showed us some of the breakouts she was looking at:

Tom took a look at the breakout on the Russell 2000 below, but also reviewed a few other symbols that you can view on the program archive:

Ten in Ten Before One: In this regular segment, Tom reviews ten charts in ten minutes with Erin's comments and comments from the Twitter "peanut gallery" peppered in there. Send in your symbol requests via Twitter (@mktwatcherslive) before the show and we'll try and add them. If we missed them this show, we have many of them in the queue for Monday. Symbols reviewed today: ETM, TDOC, FCEL, MGM, ALSN, PBA, EWZ, SWKS, JCAP, MOMO and NSA. You'll find all of the charts in the MarketWatchers LIVE ChartList, located at the top of the MarketWatchers blog homepage.

What Would You Do? In this regular segment, Tom and Erin will look at one chart and then ask the question, "What would you do? Buy/Hold or Sell/Short or Leave it Alone. The stock was Guidewire Software (GWRE). Tom and Erin actually took different positions while still agreeing with each other to some degree. Erin was in the bull camp of "Buy" and Tom was in the "SELL camp". Erin's charts are below which she believes solidifies here position. Erin posts the What Would You Do? poll on Twitter to find out what you think. The current Twitter polls are here.

Looking Forward:

Tune in tomorrow at 12:00p - 1:30p EST on 11/22 for an in-depth discussion of sentiment with Mark Young of WallStreetSentiment.com. Mark will co-host with Erin while Tom is traveling.
