What Happened Today?

Monday Set-Ups (0:19:53):

Every Monday, Tom and Erin look at which charts are shaping up as "ones to watch" for the week, but to start, they reviewed last week's Monday Set-Ups "picks". Erin picked UFI last week at $35.98 and as of today's close at $36.19 makes a small gain of 0.58%. Tom picked NAV at $43.67 and as of today's close at $43.89 makes his gain about 0.50% on the short trading week. Today's Summary is below along with their charts:

Earnings Spotlight (0:31:27): Tom and Erin took a "dual" look at four stocks that had strong earnings that now are showing promise.

ChartWatchers Review (0:41:42): Erin and Tom took a look at the blog articles that were published this weekend in the ChartWatchers blog. If you'd like to get these updates in your email box, scroll to the bottom of your homepage and you'll see the box for entering your email address. Please know that we do not do anything with those email addresses except mail you the ChartWatchers Newsletter.

Ten in Ten Before One (0:53:01): In this regular segment, Tom attempts to review ten charts in ten minutes. Send in your symbol requests via Twitter (@mktwatcherslive) before the show or using the live chat box during the LIVE program and we'll try and add them. We'll also check our email for symbol requests before the show (marketwatchers@stockcharts.com). You'll find all of the charts in the MarketWatchers LIVE ChartList, located at the top of the MarketWatchers blog homepage.

DecisionPoint Report (1:12:12): On Monday Erin analyzes DP indicators to give us a heads up on the market conditions as we start the week. She also reviewed the "big four": Dollar, Oil, Gold & Bonds. Don't miss the DecisionPoint Weekly Wrap by Carl Swenlin on Saturday morning to get the scoop on market action the prior week and find out what the indicators are suggesting for the future. The indicators are turning around which suggests more upside to come, but the market seems toppy and Carl noted the SPX is running on a nearly straight up with an angle of ascent that will not be able to hold.

Looking Forward:

Tune in on Wednesday at 12:00p - 1:30p EST on 1/9. Tom and Erin will be doing another Ten in Ten segment as well as a SCTR Report update!
