In this edition of StockCharts TV's Sector Spotlight, I talk you through the rotations for asset classes and sectors as they are currently unfolding. At asset class level, the improvement for fixed-income-related assets is worth noticing, as it is pushing stocks (SPY) down and into the lagging quadrant against a balanced index fund. In the sectors, Materials stands out because of its very stable trend, while Tech and Discretionary remain very weak from both a price and a relative perspective. At the end of the show, I plot a group of international stock market indexes against the DJ Global index. It is primarily the US indexes (SPX, NDX, INDU) that are showing weak tails, which, as a result, pushes other markets into leading.
