I'm In a New York State of Mind

 |

Thanks again to everyone that turned out for my presentation on Long Island yesterday.  I really enjoyed meeting everyone and talking in front of the Long Island Stock Traders Meetup Group.  Here's a picture of me in action during my talk:

I'm 49% sure those guys in front of the photographer were not sleeping!  :-)  Actually the reviews have been extremely positive.  Thanks everyone!

During my presentation, I made three big "Top Secret" announcements to the group. Here's a quick summary of each annoucement:

  1. We've added two new, artificially generated indexes to our site - $THSAW and $THSINE.  (The "$TH" part stands for "Theoretical".)  These are indexes that oscillate in a predefined way so that you can study how various technical indicators behave and how different period settings affect each indicator.  Check out this chart for an example with the ADX indicator.
  2. We're introducing a new way to size your charts called "Dynamic" mode.  A chart that's in "Dynamic Size" mode will automatically resize itself as you resize your browser window.  Even though I demonstrated it last night, that feature is still not fully done yet but it should be available on the website in a week or so.
  3. (This is the biggie) We're putting together the final plans for our first ever StockCharts Conference!  It will be held in Seattle in August of next year.  Look for many more details to appear in the coming week as we finalize the plans.

I'll be posting more details on each of these announcements soon.
